Terms of use

Last reviewed: 6 August 2026

These terms apply to aurum.org.au, operated by Aurum Foundation Ltd (ABN 39 680 160 570). By using this website you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

We have written these terms in plain language. They are intended to be fair rather than defensive. If any part is unclear, contact us and we will explain it.

What this site is

This website is the institutional website of Aurum Foundation. It describes who we are, what we do and what we publish.

Some of our programs are delivered elsewhere, including autisticprideday.org, our learning platform and our video channel. Those platforms have their own terms, which apply when you use them.

Using our published work

We publish frameworks, resources and commentary because we want them used. Unless a page says otherwise, you may:

  • Read, download and share our published resources.
  • Use them inside your organisation, including in training, induction and policy development.
  • Quote from them, with attribution to Aurum Foundation and a link to the source.

We ask that you do not:

  • Sell our resources, or charge for access to them.
  • Present our work as your own, or remove attribution.
  • Alter a framework and continue to describe it as ours, or imply that we endorse a modified version.
  • Use our name, logo or the name of any of our initiatives to suggest a partnership, endorsement or accreditation that does not exist.

If you want to do something these terms do not cover, ask us. The answer is usually yes.

Our intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the content of this website, including text, design, graphics, logos and published frameworks, is owned by or licensed to Aurum Foundation and protected by copyright.

Aurum Foundation, Aurum AQ, Autistic Pride Day, Think Autism, The Autistic Standard and associated logos are marks used by the Foundation. They may not be used without our written permission.

Third party content and links

This site links to other websites and may embed content hosted elsewhere, including video. We link to material we consider useful, but we do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, terms or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.

Information on this site is general

Our published frameworks, resources and commentary are general information for organisations and communities. They are not clinical advice, legal advice, or a substitute for professional or personal support.

If you are supporting an individual in a specific situation, or making a decision with legal, employment, medical or safety consequences, seek advice appropriate to that situation.

Nothing on this site should be relied on as a diagnosis, treatment or crisis response. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 000.

Accuracy

We take care to publish accurate information and we correct errors when we find them or when they are pointed out to us. We also publish research and evaluation material that states its own limitations, and those statements are part of the material.

Content is provided as it stands at the time of publication. We do not guarantee that everything remains current, and we may change or remove content without notice.

Availability

We do not guarantee that this site will always be available or uninterrupted. We may suspend, withdraw or restrict all or part of it for operational reasons.

Your conduct

When using this site or contacting us through it, you must not:

  • Use it for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it, or to any system or network connected to it.
  • Introduce malicious code, or interfere with its operation.
  • Harvest personal information from it, including by automated means.
  • Send abusive, threatening or harassing material through our contact channels.

We may restrict access where these terms are breached.

Content you send us

If you send us feedback, questions or material through this site, you confirm you are entitled to send it, and you allow us to use it for the purpose you sent it for.

We will not publish your name, your story, a quote or an image of you without your express permission. How we handle your personal information is set out on our privacy page.

Courses, events and paid services

Enrolling in a course, registering for an event or engaging us commercially may involve separate terms, which are provided at the time. Where those terms differ from this page, they apply to that transaction.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Aurum Foundation is not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of this website or reliance on its content.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Accessibility

If any part of this site is not accessible to you, tell us and we will provide the information another way. See our accessibility page.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version and its review date are published on this page, and the terms that apply are the ones published at the time you use the site.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
